Hello! we are the” futupasta” group, we are studying teaching trainning, this blog has been created in order to post the tasks of the subject "institutional organization''. We are a diverse group, while we were struggling to find things that we had in common, we finally concluded that what unites us all is the futurama series and our love for pasta, so that's what we are named FUTUPASTA.
We have decided to create a logo with photos of the characters of Futurama custumized like us.

Our ideal school, second day (Lucía Moreno)

This Thursday we had the second session of expositions about our ideal school.

The first group was “Rigatoni’s Angels”. Their work was a little similar to ours. They told us a story about a nowadays teachers who travel to the future in 2075 to discover which things they can change to improve education system. They did a kind of version of the film “Back to the future”. The first part of the video was a little bit boring because of the interviews, but inside of them I found interesting points of view from teachers and students. But I really like their work because they explained perfectly how their school would be and the final part song was so funny.

The second was “Escuela de bocación”. This was my favourite presentation. I think that it was so creative the way to tell the story and their objectives without being boring. First they introduced to us Bocacioncito (with this name I fell in love), who is a little kid with problems of inclusion in his school. Then they told us a story using origami with some kind of elements like animals or objects, which showed to Bocacionito’s mum how an ideal and inclusive school would be. Finally our classmates appeared in the video telling more characteristics about they wanted for their school. The tenderest part was their Aladdin’s version song about their ideal school. I like so much from this work that is so important the role of the parents, because always is important to exist cooperation between parents and teachers for children’s development. Both have to care about them, because if one of them do not, then education fails.

The third was “La banda del patio”. This video was also similar to ours in the way of making it. They picked up images from cartoons like we did with Futurama, and they built a story about their ideas. Their work told us how a student did not want to do what his traditional teacher said, then all the students touched together to express what they want for their ideal school, for example to have all the same rights even if they have disabilities.


The final was “The rol kids”. This work had a different way of exposition, because they made a physical magazine with all the contents to introduce us their objectives. They talked about inclusive school, same opportunities for all or good environment learning. After the magazine they showed the structure of the school with a lot of places to work together and to develop all the sills that they wanted. Then they showed a video about a little child, Pedro, who is not able to talk. So he dreams with a school where every class would have a teacher who knows sign language and without obstacles. Finally they put a video of Professional Community Learning to see education from other point of view.

La Banda del Patio's ideal school

                Finally we have ‘’La banda del patio’’s video, this video shown the need of the school to change and how this change has to take into account the students needs and ideas. This video shows the importance of the students to have ‘’voice’’ in their school, to be listened. The main ideas of this school was that the teachers should be helpful with their students and not a barrier, there should be plenty different spaces and also resources.

                The collaboration of the families with the teachers is also pretty important and the families can help in the school and also have some voice too. They presented also the traditional school with the strict and non-vocational teacher, the bad communication between teachers and students and the inflexible curriculum.


                I think what this video has of creative is the story and how the story is linked with the theory, the story is quite creative and is also one of the things I like most about this video. But another thing I like about this project is that even when they have had many problems they have got a good result and they have overcome the issues together to finally get it.

Rolkids' project

                The video of the Rol kids was made in a very different way, the first part was a magazine, and they included a tale and also a video about the learning communities. The idea of the magazine was pretty creative and I’m sure it was a very hard work including the two other videos. They give us a more theoretical point of view with the magazine but in a creatively way.

                The main ideas of this video were the learning communities which I didn’t know before and I think the idea of the cooperation and collaboration in schools is pretty important. The idea of inclusion was shown in the tale but also in the magazine, they make it very clear the importance of integration. They also talked about the abilities of Jenkins and the role of the teacher as a guide and not as a source. Furthermore they clarify the importance of the technology in the classroom and a meaningful learning; they added the importance of the teachers to be updated and to know both the content and their students. Lastly they spoke about the importance of the communication between teachers and also between the families and students.


                What I liked more about this video was the tale about the deaf kid because it showed pretty well how  the kids with disabilities see the school and the needs of the school to change and to start integrating those kid, being careful about their needs and giving everyone what they need to learn meaningfully. 

Rigatonnis' video

                The main ideas of the Rigatonnis’ ideal school are that the subjects must to be related, one subject to another so then the students will be able to make those relationships in their real life and use what they have learnt in their day by day, also that the school structure is thought to all the students also the students with disabilities, as this school supports the inclusive education it tries to make the special resources and methods for the students with disabilities also employable and useful to those who hasn’t. In this school all of the students are equal so they have the same rights, also they do both practice and theory. This school supported learning by having fun and the teachers knowing the content, the pedagogy and their students.

                Rigatonnis also show an interview of a real school in which they talked to the parents who said that the communication between parents, teachers and students was very close but that they would like their kids to have less homework so as they have so much extracurricular classes they could have more free time. They also talked to a teacher who said that there’s a need of the parties to reach an agreement to make an education law so the law doesn’t change when the party changes and that this law should support new methodologies. Finally they talked to the kids which said that they wanted to play more. Furthermore, they talk about the traditional education as it has non-vocational teachers, authoritarian methodology and that the teachers don’t understand the students’ needs.


                What I like more about this video was the last part with as it was very  funny  and dynamic but I also liked the overall story because I think that they have represented it very well the theory through it, the story itself was also quite good. Furthermore I think this group has been really creative because they had known how to link all the parts of the video through the story so it didn’t see so much as part, it was more and less like a whole. But what I like the most most most about the video was the catchy songs they used!

Escuela de Bocacion's ideal school

                The ‘’Escuela de Bocación’’s ideal school was a place in which the kids should enjoy going school and be happy, the teachers have good relationship with each other and they also work together, they developed creativity and the multiple intelligences. This school had resources for people with disabilities that were useful to every student; they developed cooperative learning (so everyone learn from each other) and the autonomy of the students. The teachers were an scaffold to their students and they adapt their methodology to the kids. This school was a learning community and had plenty resources.
                They explain this school through Bocacioncito’s a story that I think all of us love, this little kid feel unhappy with his traditional classes and his non-vocational teachers so his mum decided to change it going through a forest in which the animals and everyone she found give her same keys about the ideal school like having a common law. This video was very creative not only because of the story but because of the way the story was shown, the resources they used, it was almost twenty minutes that went too quickly also the music was made for this video


                Personally, I find quite difficult to find the thing I like most, but if I had to decide, I would say the way they have made this tale so lovely including the theory perfectly, it was very well linked and it made it not boring at all.  Furthermore I love how tender this tale was, I’m sure that even little kids would like it.

Second day of video presentations (4 groups)


“RIGATONI’S ANGELS”

The presentation of the group was different and interesting. They have a very creative concept and plot in their work. At first we saw in the video an interview taking place in a school, in the first moments in the video we can see the points of view of teachers, students and parents. It was a nice interview and it was emphasized the importance of cooperative learning and good environment in the class, the big amount of books (that is not always a good thing) and how kids feel about homework and school.

 Then the group plays a little sketch. At first it’s show how sometimes teachers feel helpless and unhappy with what they do because they feel like their job has no point and the children don’t really learn from then .The solution came with an original way when the group of teachers decide to travel to the future to see in the first hand how will be the ideal school.

 The main ideas of this work I think is the teachers role , school structure that appeal to everyone’s needs ,cooperative learning , not to stuck in the curriculum , cooperation and communication between teachers-students-parents, change of the educational law and the importance of the new technologies . I like the variety in the video and of course the dancing in the end, it was very funny.



"LA BANDA DEL PATIO"

The group had a very difficult problem with their video because they lost their work and they had to done it from the beginning that itself makes them deserve congrats. The video was a little bit shorter than the others but had scenes from my favorite carton (like for the most of us) as a child so I liked it and I think the scenes they choose and their dialogues was creative.  

 At first we have the image of a traditional school that the strict teachers and the headmaster don’t listen to students’ voices about their different interests and their different needs and the curriculum is not flexible at all. As a result the students ask for their rights and fight for their school to change. The end was happy and they had their school as they imagined it.

 The main ideas I think are the inclusion of all students in school, the change of school and of teachers’ attitudes, cooperation and adaption of the curriculum.
I found good their plan of the ideal school with the 3 floors and also the triangle that they shown us ‘’ teacher-children-content’’.



"ESCUELA DE BOCACIÓN"

 I thing that the work my classmates done with their project is amazing! I loved their video and their idea was very original. They play a shadow -theatre that was perfect, the scenery, the dialogue, the ideas everything was very well showed.  I think that what this group did is what a good teacher should include to his/hers teaching methods,  to explain ideas throw stories.

 The story was a fairytale about a little student Bocacioncito that he was facing problems in school and he had negative behavior from his teacher who couldn’t understand the diversity of her pupils and expect from all of them to learn with the same traditional method. That made Bocacioncito feels very bad and have low self esteem, he thought that he will never be could enough so he give up the try and he couldn’t even trouble to study his homework. So his mother that noticed the strange behavior of her child went to school to see what the problem was. She saw things that she couldn’t believe the organization of school encourage exclusion instead of inclusion so she understand that in this spirit her son and a lot of other kids could never reach knowledge and meaningful learning.
The explanation of how the school building should be was also creative and well understood and all the parts were connected in a very good way.

 The main ideas was the inclusive education, cooperative learning, respect to diversity because everyone can teach us something, the concept of multiple intelligences, to leave children have their imagination and creativity and freedom. Also teachers’ cooperation, parents’ communication with the school, equity and autonomy for the children.
The result was very nice and we all enjoyed it and it show how the members cooperate very good with each other and that they worked hard.




"THE ROLE KIDS"

 The work of this group had parts. That thing helped so their work had variety. The first part was the creation of an educational newspaper it’s a really unique and different idea and we didn’t see something like this in the others presentation. They give newspapers printed to each group while they explain the content in the blackboard what we have to do to improve education. To create a newspaper with all these ideas must be a very hard work and good for them that they managed to do it.

 The part of the presentation of the ideal school I liked the most, it was made with the help of the video game Sims and their idea was very clear in our minds after watching their presentation.
I also enjoyed the cartoon ‘’Peter`s dream’’ that was about inclusion and respect to diversity of students , everybody had place in the regular class no matter what and everybody together can make the difference with help from cooperative techniques.
The part that was about their work in a real school I didn’t understand very well because it was so late so I think we lost this part a little.

 The main ideas were: inclusion, start teaching based on previous knowledge of our students, learn from the difference, use new media to help learning, evaluation for teachers and school for teachers ,interactive working groups and climate of mutual respect for all.

In conclusion I found all the presentations very interesting and I can see that was made with hard work. I enjoy these two days of presentations a lot!!!

First day of presentations - the ideal school


    In the first day we presentate our video of ideal school. Our idea was to use scenes of the popular cartoon futurama , to create a scenario  and with our voices to show in a fun way how we imagine the ideal school for us .

   The second group was the differents. They made a very interesting video that it didn’t make us bored at all. At first our classmates use scenes from the show Simpsons and use their voices to change the script. In this part we didn’t see the ideal school but how schools which use traditional methods don’t help the learning of the students. We saw scenes of bulling, the indifference of the teacher and how punishment affects in a way negative the students. In the second part of the video they act themselves .We were able to see how the students could learn better by informing the theory in practice. One teacher use dance and movement of the body because the students have problems to understand the body parts. 
   Also the class took place in a park and not inside the classroom I think is very useful for the children to live once in a while the class. Also the way that it was shown the plan of the ideal school was quite effective they use a blackboard and they make draws so we could see step by step their idea. The key-idea in the video I think it was the importance of the teachers role. It was very clear how a teacher can make the difference in students learning in a bad and in the second part in a good and effective way. We all enjoy the video and laugh a lot with the deleted scenes and we have the feeling that the group cooperate well and they had fun together.

The Differents' ideal school

                    The Differents’ ideal school was one in which the teachers supported experienced learning, this is to say, they wanted their students to learn by their experience so their school mixed both, theory and practice (because both of them are necessary) so the students were able to go deeper in their learning and make it a meaningful learning. Also, in this school they develop some classes outside the classroom, so the students learn in different spaces. This school uses cooperative learning in their classes so the diversity of this school was thought as a virtue which helps students to learn from the others.But in this video they also talked about the traditional methodology and show that by this method the students weren’t happy and didn’t learn as much as they could learn, in this traditional school the teachers weren’t motivated so neither their students were.

                I think the Differents have done a creative task because they mixed different ways of showing the information, the first one with the tv series ‘’The simpsons’’ in which they represented the traditional school, then they used the drawing in the whiteboard to show the structure of the building and finally they did a funny video in which they did like a class of the human body and did a little dance that even when it was a song that we all knew they did it so funny that we all like that.

                If I had to say what I like most of this video was how they showed the structure of the school, I think that as they did recording the draw it was more interactive. So this part, that we all know is the part of the task that was more dense, was explained very well and was dynamic so we didn’t get bored. But I also like quite a lot about this video that in this video was shown the complicity between all the members and that they have had plenty fun doing it, also it was shown that each of them did a hard work to make this project as much better as they could.

                                                                                                                     

Ideal School #1 (Nacho)

On Thursday we start the presentations of our ideal school, the group that start the presentation is our group so I can't say anything of it. 

The second group that make the presentation was the group "The Differents", the main ideas were: the help with each student between each other , the classes with the form like an spike and the change of roles between the teachers and the students. I think that this video is so creative because the are the only ones that go out of class and make something like one class in a park, they do a fisical education class and it was so funny, when they sing and dance, I really love this part, and also creative because they draw with their hands and record this draw about their ideal school, so it was pretty good. The best part of the video like I just say was the part when Sergio make the class in the park and make to the others dance, but the outtakes in the video are so funny to and I like this part too.

First presentations of Ideal school (Lucía)

On Thursday we have started with the expositions of our ideal school. We have been the first group doing the presentation. Our video was about a Futurama invented history. The characters had to travel to the past to discover the mistakes in education systems, and in this way, back to the present and try to change future school.

The second group has been The Differents, they have done a video mixing images with videos recorded by themselves. The first part showed The Simpsons's images, they represented their not ideal school, for example with violence, professors without interest or not integration groups. The second part is a video that explained how the ideal school would be, drawing the school structure in a white board. As opposed to us, they have shown the distribution inside of the classrooms, where chairs, tables or blackboards are situated. I liked this part a little more because the background song was one of my favorite band, Arctic Monkeys!

But my favorite part, which I have had a lot of fun, is the last one. In this part, our classmates interpreted a "Biology class". Sergio had the role of the teacher and the rest were students. While they were learning in a collaborative and experience way, they could explore their body singing and learning all the parts of it.
